Art room construction

Image
Here are a few more pictures of my room. I am so happy to be finished.   My word wall consists of principles of designs and elements of art . (I will add more throughout the year)   This is my assignment box, for dry papers. I took a huge box from my poster board order and used fabric to cover it. I saw this stop sign on Pinterest, I just had to add it. I dislike with a passion no name papers.   Love these hooks! The best idea I could have ever come up with.                                                     To keep my line straight in case I have some late pick ups from teachers. I even put foot prints in front of my sink.   Finished product and looking forward to starting a new school year next Tuesday.

Getting Back into the Groove

Decorating my classroom. I love using characters to help promote art..and the kids get a kick out of seeing them too. This year I am focusing on color. I have color families represented on this bulletin board . Next Monday will be our first mandatory day back for staff.   So, I received my keys today and decided to get an early start on organizing and decorating my room. We are using  CHAMPS  and a behavior system (green level, yellow, blue level and red level) Green level means that you are showing positive behavior and the further up it goes  in color that means that your behavior is warranted a consequence.        I'll post more pictures as I go along.

My new found interest...courtesy of Pinterest, Cards!!

Image
From this day forward I will never buy another card again. I love making cards!!! After looking at all of those beautiful cards on Pinterest, I have decided to try my hand at making them. I made  four cards so far, two are below. What do you think? This card is for my niece she turns five this year and starts her first day of kindergarten at the end of the month. This card is for my dad, his birthday is next week. (Masculine cards are hard to make) I tried to use masculine colors and add embellishments that weren't to busy. My dad is not a golfer or does anything like hunting or a sports fanatic, he's a preacher that's his life. I hope he likes it.

Substitute Binder

Image
I saw this on Pinterest...Love this idea!!!  I have three more weeks before I go back to school, I still can't believe how fast the time went. I promised my self that regardless of the time approaching I will enjoy every minute of summer. Although, I am on vacation, I still like working on a few school projects. So, I am at work creating my substitute binder. Every year my principal asks for lessons for at least a three day absence, so I'm getting a head start. My sub binder includes a table of contents to direct the sub through the binder. I don't have everything in the binder as of today, but as soon as I receive my packet of goodies from school (school map, seating chart, schedule..etc.) I can add a lot more.  Here are a few lesson plans and handouts that were added recently. I also added a comment page for the sub. I'll post the finish product on a later date.
